Dear hunters,
Dear friends of Oryxhunt,

Now it is hightime to send a letter for Christmas. Here everybody is running and rushing and busy - like every year this time around.

Hans and myself had a good year despite recession etc. We had the golden opportunity to purchase some land and the conditions were a "once in a lifetime"chance- so we took the opportunity!
More land means more intensive farming for Hans and means in the end more cattle which means prosperity if all goes well! …but first we have to pay it off!( again ( ; )

Hunting was more on the quiet side this year and also prices for cattle were a little lower as expected but all in all it was well. The children are very well. Jens(18) got his driverslicence and will go to Grade 12 next year. He wants to study Bcom in Europe then and I think he is so keen to experience the "big wide world "outside. Both children are a joy to us and their grandparents as well. Lars (9) also had a great rapport - exept his handwriting- and passes to Grade 3. He is a keen fluteplayer and horserider. Both children are still very close to their grandma and pa and are momentarily with them in South Africa till 22 December.

Our Team on Oryxhunt is also doing well. Ingo( our huntingguide) became father of a girl the 2nd time and is very proud! Jason and Simon got married this year but their wives tradiotionally stay in Ovamboland up north. Old Elisabeth is doing well still and so is the young Elisabeht although she still needs a lot of learning. Mattheus is also new and will still have to prove himself…Old Ernst is just the same.

We are sure you also read about the controversys of Leopard and Cheetahhunting . On the last December Meeting of Nahpa it was announced that leopard and cheetahhunting is probably still closed for 2010- definitely hunting with dogs is totally forbidden…We hope that the new huntinglaws re. These two superb animals will leave little loopholes but unethic and greedy characters will still find a way…Hunters the world over should be VERY VERY aware with whom they hunt and find out about the person before… Unfortunately we are in Africa and corruption is high….

Our politics …we had votes this year and it all went not to well. We did not had bloody unrests but there were big irregularities. We personally do not believe it was a correct counting of votes…but that is a personal opinion. Greed and Corruption are high. It speaks to itself if the "Father of the Nation"is very close to Prs.Mugabe….whos land lies in ruins and who`s people die of hunger and who`s natureconservation and other things are non existent anymore…ruined by ignorance, greed etc.

What will 2010 bring? Well, the bookings for hunt do not look to bad for December! We feel positive about 2010 and believe further: Lets all try and be very constructive, positive and pro active and lets make this world a better place within our small surroundings!

Please pardon my not perfect English but I did try!

On that note we all wish you a very blessed Christmas ! May 2010 hold a lot of good things in place for you personally and your beloved ones and maybe we meet each other in 2010!

Greetins from

Hans, Luise, Jens and Lars and the Oryxhunt Team
