Oryxhunt lies in Windhoek District, 85 km west of the capital city, in the mountainous landscapes of the Khomas Hochland. The drive from Windhoek to Valsdam offers our visitors expansive and panoramic scenery over the endless mountain ranges. A well kept secret for the privileged to enjoy. |
The ranch is managed by Master Huntsman, Hans Peter Deloch and his wife Luise. The Delochs’ are both second and third generation Namibians, whose forefathers, as so often in Namibia, hailed from Schlesien and East Prussia. Their two sons, Jens and Lars, attend the German school in Windhoek. |
Ranch Valsdam is primarily a traditional Namibian working ranch breeding Bonsmara cattle. The Khomas Hochland’s rich and varied open range game population lends itself ideally to trophy hunting. |
The personal touch and homely hospitality for which Oryxhunt is known begins upon your arrival at Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport. On arrival we take pride in welcoming our guest who are transferred to Valsdam where they, not only glimpse but, are integrated into the daily life of a Namibian ranching family! |
