Oryxhunt is situated on the ranch Valsdam in the hilly and ever-changing landscape of the Khomas Hochland 85km to the west of Namibia's capital, Windhoek. The stress of a long flight melts away with each kilometer as the journey winds through seemingly endless mountain ranges to Valsdam. 

Visitors are often astounded at how man, fauna and flora can survive and flourish in this arid, austere and ruggedly beautiful landscape.

The ranch is managed by Master Huntsman, Hans Peter Deloch and his wife Luise. The Delochs are ‘born and bred’ Namibians , with their forefathers hailing from Schlesien and East Prussia. The couple has got 2 sons, which are attending the local German school.

Farm Valsdam primarily is a traditional Namibian farm where the Bonsmara cattle are bred. The rich and varied open range game population of the Khomas Hochland is ideally suited for trophy hunting.
